What this is
Fides is a personal fitness and nutrition tracking app with an AI-assisted Coach for workout and meal suggestions, plus barcode food scanning and progress tracking. It's an early-stage, actively developed project — currently shared with a small group of testers, not a finished commercial product. Features, design, and functionality may change as it's developed further. See our Privacy Policy for how your data is handled.
Not medical or professional advice
Nothing in this app — including workout suggestions, meal ideas, calorie/macro targets, or anything from Your Coach (whether AI-generated or from the built-in suggestion generator) — is medical, dietary, or fitness professional advice, and none of it is reviewed by a licensed professional before being shown to you. It's for informational and self-tracking purposes only. Talk to a doctor, registered dietitian, or other qualified professional before starting a new diet or exercise program, especially if you have any existing health condition, injury, or are pregnant. AI-generated content in particular can occasionally be inaccurate or generic — use your own judgment, and stop any exercise that causes pain.
Who can use this
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account and use Fides. By using the app, you confirm you meet this requirement and that any information you provide about yourself is accurate.
Your account
You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that happens under your account. Each account is for one person's personal use — please don't share your login or create accounts on behalf of others without their permission. Let us know at mauipossum.picker@gmail.com if you believe your account has been accessed by anyone else.
Acceptable use
Using Fides, you agree not to:
- Use the app for anything unlawful, or in a way that violates anyone else's rights.
- Attempt to abuse, overload, or circumvent the app's rate limits or AI usage protections, or otherwise interfere with the app's normal operation.
- Scrape, copy, or reverse-engineer the app or its underlying code beyond what's permitted by law.
- Impersonate another person, or provide false information when creating an account.
- Upload or send anything through Coach chat that's unlawful, abusive, or infringes someone else's rights.
Accounts that violate these may be suspended or removed — see "Ending your use" below.
Your content, our license to run the app
You own the information you enter into Fides — your logs, goals, saved meals and exercises, and anything you send to Coach chat. We don't claim ownership of it. By using the app, you give us the limited permission needed to store, process, and display that information back to you in order to provide the app's features (see the Privacy Policy for exactly who that information is shared with and why). We don't use it for anything beyond running the app for you, and it's never sold.
The Fides name, logo, and app design belong to Fides and may not be copied or reused without permission.
Feedback
If you send suggestions, bug reports, or feedback about the app, you agree we can use them to improve Fides without any obligation to you — but we'd love to hear from you regardless at mauipossum.picker@gmail.com, and this is very much a feedback-driven project at this stage.
Pricing
Fides is currently free to use. If paid features or subscriptions are introduced in the future, you'll see clear pricing and be asked to agree to it before anything is charged — nothing about your use of the app today will result in a surprise charge later.
Provided as-is, no warranty
This is early-stage software. It's provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Features may change, break, contain bugs, or be removed as the app is developed further, and we don't guarantee it will be available at all times without interruption. If something isn't working right, please report it at mauipossum.picker@gmail.com rather than assume it's intentional.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Fides and its developer aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or any loss of data, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the app, including decisions made based on its workout, nutrition, or Coach suggestions. Use the app's suggestions at your own discretion, particularly around anything health- or injury-related.
Ending your use
You can stop using the app and permanently delete your account and data at any time from Profile → Privacy & data controls → Delete my account, or by emailing mauipossum.picker@gmail.com. We may also suspend or remove accounts that violate the acceptable-use terms above, or discontinue the app or any feature of it at our discretion, with notice where reasonably possible given this is an early-stage project.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where local consumer-protection law requires otherwise.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated as the app changes. The date at the top of this page always reflects the most recent update, and continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
